'Smile, You' Lee Min-jeong, 'I delayed my actress career for stage play'

Leading actress Lee Min-jeong for SBS drama "Smile, You" gave out her first TV performance as the fiancée of Ku Jun-pyo in KBS drama "Boys before Flowers" when she was 24. 


At the age of 27, she is becoming the leading actress for SBS drama "Smile, You" as the most shining fresh actress of year 2009. After she played the character of fiancée of Ku Jun-pyo in hot issue drama "Boys Before Flowers" Lee Min-jeong leaves audiences with her impressive arrogant princess image and was invited for several commercial filming including mobile phone and make up products. 


In the media conference of SBS drama "Smile, You" Lee Min-jeong said she feels like having 10 tons of weight on her shoulder by performing the leading character of the drama. The pressure for leading the drama is massive for her. 


Asked about if she feels a little bit better as the story going, Lee Min-jeong says she feels more and more scared about her performance in the drama. "I find it hard to handle the character living a poor life now but enjoyed actual luxury life before her family business fails," said Lee Min-jeong. 



The audience rating for "Smile, You" reaches to 13.5% on 11 October. The audiences also give good reviews to Lee Min-jeong's acting in the drama, too. 


"I have a plan to make actress as my career for a long time," said Lee Min-jeong. As known for becoming an actress at the age of 24 through MBC drama, Lee Min-jeong is considered as entering show business very late. 


"I studied stage acting in Seong Kyun Kwan University. It takes me several years to finish the degree. But I never feel regret that I become leading actress for TV drama in my late 20s," said Lee Min-jeong. 


Audiences fall for her acting in drama "Boys Before Flowers". Finishing the hot drama, Lee Min-jeong participated in the filming of movie "100-Night Journey" based on Japanese novel. 


"Since I haven't filmed many productions I think I still have lots of things to show on the screen. I am already looking for the next production and ready to challenge myself as unique actress," said Lee Min-jeong.
