Celebrity Volunteer Group Reaches Out to Disabled Children
"People who Care," a volunteer organization made up of celebrities, has set out to help children with disabilities. The volunteer group held a special ceremony to mark the beginning of its new sisterhood with the Social Welfare Society and the Amsa Rehabilitation Center on September 29. Nine members of the organization, including Kim Won-hee, Kim Jeong-eun, Kim Yoo-mi, Ahn Jae-wook, Eugene, Park Cheol, Yoo Da-hoon, Jeong Sun-kyung and Lee Kyung-ho, attended the cremony. They donated study assistant equipment such as a touch PDP and spent time with the children. Actress Kim Jeong-eun, who is the publicity envoy for the Social Welfare Society, said the disabled children are in desperate need of expensive equipment to assist their studies. She went on to ask the people to show their generosity. Meanwhile, popular TV host Kim Won-hee said the true meaning of sharing lies in providing the children with memories to cherish for a long time. She also shared her intent to visit the rehabilitation center on a regular basis with her fellow celebrity volunteers.
Eugene Selected as PiFan Spokesmodel
Actress and former K-Pop artist, Eugene, has been selected to be the "PiFan Lady" by the organizational committee of the 12th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan). Last year, Eugene made her silver screen debut with the movie "Unstoppable Marriage," and is currently in the middle of filming "198th Page of That Man's Book" with actor Lee Dong-wook. During the course of the film festival (July 18th-27th), Eugene will participate in its various public and promotional events. Former "PiFan Ladies" include Bae Doo-na, Jang Jin-young, Ha Ji-won, Kang Soo-yeon, Choo Sang-mi and Jin Hee-kyung. And from 2006 to 2007, Park Joong-hoon, Lee Jun-ki, Lee Wan and Song Chang-hui have had the honor of becoming "PiFan Guys."
Eugene to Play Second Mother Role
Eugene becomes the mother of a child and a lucky woman who receives the love of three men--Cho Hyun-jae, Jae Hee and Shin Sung-rok--one of whom is the father of the baby. The new KBS 2TV (Wed./Thurs.) drama "Three Daddies and One Mommy" is about a married couple who receives sperm donations from three of the husband's friends. Although the conception is successful, the wife loses her husband suddenly in an accident. The story continues with the wife and the three friends. Eugene plays the role of the widowed mother, "Song Na-young," but this isn't her first role as a mother. In 2005, the actress starred in the MBC drama "Wonderful Life" as a young woman who gets pregnant and thrown into married life after a night of bad judgments. "Back then, the baby wasn't planned, but this time the baby is, so I can be much more of a proud mommy," Eugene said. "In the other drama, my husband didn't love me, but for this one I receive the love of three men, though I do lose my husband." She laughingly added, "The three men are so wonderful, I could live with all of them!" "Three Daddies and One Mommy" will fill the time slot of "Hong Gil-dong, the Hero." It is directed by Lee Jae-sang. who produced "Dal-ja's Spring," and written by Cho Myung-joo. who also wrote "The Man of the Vineyard."
Yoo Jin (Eugene) and Jo Hyun Jae cast in KBS "Three Dads, One Mom"
Yoo Jin and Jo Hyun Jae have been cast as the main leads in "Three Dads, One Mom" to be aired on Wednesdays and Thursdays on KBS 2TV. Jae Hee and Shin Sung Rok will join the two in the series. "Three Dads, One Mom" is scheduled to start airing on April 2nd and will be the story of a widow's love and raising a child. The series is a romantic comedy about three men who donate sperm to a friend who was suffering from aspermia, and the wife who becomes pregnant but loses her husband in an accident. Producing director Lee Jae Sang of "Dalja's Spring" and writer Jo Myun Joo of "The Vineyard Man" will be directing and writing the series. Former S.E.S. member Yoo Jin (Eugene) will play single mom Na Young while Jo Hyun Jae, Jae Hee, and Shin Sung Rok are the three men who donate. Jo Hyun Jae who is returning to the TV screen two years after "Ballad of Seodong" will play a comic role as a successful fund manager. Shin Sung Rok plays the role of an innocent detective who cannot even speak well in front of women while Jae Hee is a 'pretty boy' comic artist who likes girls but doesn't know true love. The series will start filming on March 3rd.
