Director Park Chan-wook remakes French director Costa Gavras's movie 'Axe'

Given the committee award of Cannes international movie festival for movie <Thirst>, Korean movie director Park Chan-wook becomes more and more famous in the international movie market. This is his first time to remake the movie "The Ax, Le Couperet", a great production from French director Costa Gavras, reported by a staff of his management company on 8 September. 


Director Park received this project after he was given the award from committee of Cannes movie festival and also agrees with the proposal to remake the movie in a Hollywood movie studio. 


Movie <Axe> is another powerful production of director Costa Gavras after "Confession" and "Missing". 


The cooperation between director Park who produces movie "Old Boy" and "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" and French director Costa Gavras is going to be hot issue not only in Korea but also in the international movie industry.
