Shin Seung-hoon Ready for Comeback
Crooner Shin Seung-hoon will be back after a two-year hiatus with an appearance at the 2008 Asia Song Festival. Scheduled to open on October 4th at the Sangam World Cup Stadium in Seoul, Shin will demonstrate his staying power with one of his megahits “I Believe” and other favorites. This performance will be his first in Korea since his 10th album “The Romanticist” was released in October 2006.
What has he been doing for the past two years? Shin has signed a contract with Japan’s Avex, which has singer BoA among its clientele, in March of last year and worked on his career in Japan. Last December he released “Winter Special,” which featured his first song in Japanese “Song for You.” The song shot up to 15th place on the Oricon chart and the Christmas concert held in Yokohama Arena in the same month was a resounding success, drawing more than 13 thousand fans.
Sponsored by the International Culture Industry Exchange Foundation, the 2008 Asia Song Festival will feature Korea’s hottest stars, such as TVXQ and Girls’ Generation, as well as singers from 12 Asian nations.
