'IRIS' rules audience rating, Best drama production in year 2009?

Hitting the audience rating at 20% for the first episode aired on 14 October on KBS 2TV, drama <IRIS> topped all dramas broadcasted in the same time schedule. 


TNS Media Korea claimed that the audience rating for the first episode of drama <IRIS> reaches to 24.5% while another media company called AGB Nelson got the figure as 20.3%. In a word, <IRIS> rules the audience rating for peer production comparing the influence of the first episode. 


Entitled with the most competitive drama productions in year 2009, <The Sons of Sol Pharmacy House> and MBC drama <Queen Seon Deok> just hit around 15% as audience rating for their first episodes. 


Receiving such a good start, drama <IRIS> is regarded as potential production to be the best drama in Korea for year 2009. Apparently the amazing action scenes and excellent performances of great actors in drama <IRIS> make it so successful for the first appearance on TV screen. 


The audiences know about the relationship between main characters through the first episode and also get hint about the second and third episode from the story aired in the first episode which is complicated and great. Plus director Kim Kyu-tae for the drama says the real story starts from the 4th episode which attracts more audiences as the story carrying on. 


Review says the performance of the leading actors including Kim Tae-hee, Lee Byeong-Heon, Kim So-yeon, Jeong Joon-ho and TOP from BigBang really worth the price of their name as the best actors in Korea. 


Whether KBS action drama <IRIS> will become the best drama in year 2009 is still a question. Under the glory of best audience rating for the first episode, drama <IRIS> also raises wonder from the public whether the story will come in like a lion and go out like a lamb which leads the drama to worse quality.

Well, I watched this drama and though I cant understand Korean language fully; it was a great opening followed by mixture of fun scenes. Best was the Performance of the 3 lead actors and they all were awesome. Absolutely fantastic. Though a foreigner; I have been waiting for this drama since past 2 months to watch Kim Tae-hee, Lee Byeong-Heon and TOP, all 3, in same drama and hopefully in same scene. Wonderfull acting and I applaud the screen writer as well as director for including humour/fun/comedy as well. Thanks for a great treat; already. I wish to catch it live on all episodes and then search for subtitled videos. Thanks, IRIS Team.
