Paran Emerges as New Hallyu Star in Thailand

Paran took part in a Korea-Thailand taekwondo tournament in Thailand on June 10 where he performed in front of 4000 people.

The singer licensed his second album to Thailand after releasing it in Korea in October last year, and gained popularity in the Southeast Asian country by singing his debut song, "First Love ", in Thai in January this year.

At the tournament, Paran sang "First Love " as well as "Once" -- the original soundtrack of the TV drama "Lovers in Prague". In the curtain call, he sang "I Lay My Love on You".

The singer attributes his popularity in Thailand to focusing on the Thai market on a full scale compared to other singers. He says he was happy to publicize taekwondo as the national Korean sport at the event.

Other singers to perform at the tournament included Yang Dong-geun and Kan Mi-yeon.
After his performance, Paran received an appreciation plaque from the head of the Thai IOC.
