Japan Pays Top Dollar for "Country of Wind"
The KBS 2TV drama "Country of Wind" was sold to Japan at a price higher than past purchases for previous KBS dramas.
"We signed the contracts with Japan's biggest distributor, Pony Canyon, at the 'Broadcast Worldwide Exhibition & Conference (BCWW)' which opened on the 3rd," said a representative from KBS. "We can't reveal the exact price, but it is the greatest amount that has ever been paid for the export of a KBS program."
Starring Song Il-guk, "Country of Wind" is a historical drama about the life of a Goguryeo king, Mu Hyul. Its first broadcast is on Sept. 10th and it will replace the drama "Korean Ghost Stories."
Tonight, a special program called "'Country of Wind' Special" will be broadcast covering the 45 days that the cast and crew spent in China for filming.
