the first time i saw him was in the series lovers in prague and i instantly like the guy's attitude and acting... i mean he's too young then in that series and then bang!!! i saw him again in the series Hong Gil dong and i realized.... time did flies faster.... and lo and behold... he became a man... he he he good enough to eat!!!!!! apparently he's doing great to think he's part in the new series Beethoven virus which i currently watched.... so to Jang Geun-seok good luck and stay cool!!!!

i am yuliana tan...i studied at a school named"singapore piaget academy" i had ever been a student counciler and i had ever gone to singapore becaus of my good work...my wish is to become an actress at japan and my wish is to meet Jang geun seok...i will never give up in my wish...even when i keep on say like that my friend keeps on bully me and say me "ala you have no brain i know your wish will never come true..."well everytime i was bullied but i still wants to makje my wish come true...Well i fell that i very like japan and i don't have any choice again to choose korea...korea has a very difficult language and at here isn't any teacher that can speak korean language...only japanese language....even i am bullied and what ever i still never give up...that is myself...well i don't have good score but i tried very hard...please reply ok???plz...

Jang Geun-suk and Tim Appear in Son Ho-young Video
Actor Jang Geun-suk and singer Tim made cameo appearances in Son Ho-young's music video for "I Know," the title track for Son's second album. In the video, Son plays the part of a man in pain after realizing that his girlfriend is falling for someone else. Jang and Tim are the two men who try to seduce Son's girlfriend. Son sang a duet on Tim's fourth album and Tim returned the favor by singing "I Hope" with Son for his new album. Unfortunately, Jang couldn't participate in the actual music video shoot due to conflicting schedules with the MBC drama he's currently starring in, "Beethoven Virus." Instead, Jang makes his cameo through photographs used in the video. "They are both very busy celebrities, so I was hesitant about asking them, but I'm grateful that they agreed readily," Son said. He added that their moral support was of great help, as well. Son will be holding a national tour which starts with his performance at the Melon AX Hall in Seoul on Oct. 25th and 26th.
Stars Join "Hanareum Hope Festival"
Actors Jang Geun-suk, Eric and Park Hae-jin, and singers Super Junior, SHINee, Jang Yoon-jung, Crying Nut and others, will be taking part in the "2008 Hope Festival with Academic Credit Bank System" (Hanareum Hope Festival) on September 23rd and 24th at the Olympic Park in Seoul. The "Academic Credit Bank System" is a system implementing extracurricular activities as academic credit for junior colleges and universities. This festival marks the 10-year anniversary since the system has been in use. The "2008 Hope Festival with Academic Credit Bank System" is sponsored by the National Institute for Lifelong Education, and participants include institutes who use the academic credit bank system, such as Seoul Art College. The festival program will include performances by celebrities and students, fashion shows, independent film seminars with renowned movie directors Heo Jin-ho ("Happiness") and Oh Ki-hwan ("The Art of Seduction"), singing contests, and magic shows. In July, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology had named actors Choi Ran, Jang Geun-suk, Park Hae-jin, Eric, and singer Jang Yoon-jung as spokesmodels for the academic credit bank system.
KBS TV Drama "Hwangjinyi" to Air in Japan
The KBS TV drama "Hwangjinyi" starring actress Ha Ji-won will air in Japan in April. The drama's production firm said Japan's NHK will air the drama from April 6 on the satellite channel NHK BS2 during prime time every Sunday, and that NHK zeroed in on the drama for its potential to boost the Korean Wave. "Hwangjinyi" depicts the life of ancient artist Hwangjinyi. The lead actress, Ha Ji-won, has been praised for her superb acting skills in the drama. Another KBS TV drama, "Hong Kil-dong," which is airing in Korea currently, has also drawn attention in Japan. The firm said it has received numerous inquiries about "Hong Kil-dong" and that its lead actor, Chang Keun-seok, is to hold a fan meeting in Japan next month.
New KBS drama takes fusion to extremes
Actor Jang Geun-seok, 20, captured the essence of KBS's newest drama "Hong Gil-dong, the Hero" when he said, "I think 'Hong Gil-dong, the Hero' truly is a fusion drama." Playing a troubled crown prince on the run in this new drama, Jang added, "It's got a very young and energetic storyline." Young and fresh are the right words to use when referring to "Hong Gil-dong, the Hero," which started last Wednesday night on KBS 2. This new take on the traditional historical drama presents the most unlikely mix of global pop culture references to ever hit TV screens. From Hong Kong action stunts to Bollywood belly dancing to a touch of Shakespearean stage humor, this drama gives the classic story of one of Korea's most popular heroes, Hong Gil-dong, a radical makeover. The original Hong Gil-dong, upon which this drama is based, was a heroic character from an old Korean novel written in the Joseon Dynasty. A Korean Robin Hood, the original Hong was depicted as a model hero. Morally upright, intelligent and driven by a desire to right the wrongs of a nation, Hong and his band of thieves stole from the rich and gave to the poor. But the new Hong Gil-dong, skillfully played by actor Kang Ji-hwan, 30, breaks all stereotypes. This village bully who drowns himself in merrymaking, gambling and women is a far cry from the beloved hero of yore. Kang's Hong swaggers, burps and masks his good intentions with a deadbeat attitude. And it takes real acting flair to pull off just the right mix of physical humor, wild stunts and poignantly masked emotion and pain to make this new hero come alive. Kang doesn't disappoint. A seasoned actor both onscreen and onstage, Kang makes for a refreshing Hong Gil-dong. He artfully navigates the dual role of a bastard son who secretly desires his father's affections and the comic village bully, coupling the right amount of exaggerated, bawdy theatrics with candid emotion. And audiences are noticing. After the first episode, one domestic viewer wrote on the drama's official bulletin board: "Kang Ji-hwan ... I am a big fan of him from now on ... his acting is very good, smooth and natural." And Kang is not the only star that merits attention in the drama. His beautiful co-star, Sung Yu-ri, a former member of the hit girl-group Fin.K.L., turns bathroom humor into an art in her role as the boyish heroine Heo Lee-nok. In the second episode, Sung, 26, defecates in the wilderness, to put it nicely. From her singing while she does her business to her delicate selection of the right leaf to use as toilet paper, Sung pulls off the scene with perfect comic timing. But it's the side characters who threaten to steal the show. From Kang's Yoda-like Zen master to Heo Lee-nok's crazy grandpa, the supporting cast really beefs up "Hong Gil-dong, the Hero" with their colorful antics. Particularly noteworthy is the mock-Chinese peddler with the surname of Wang. Sporting a little Chinese silk outfit, Wang punctuates all his lines with a "yah" at the end to try to sound Chinese in the hopes that it will help boost sales. But the joke is on Wang when Kang tells Sung Yu-ri's character that Wang is not Chinese at all but a Korean native from Gyeongsang Province. But underneath all the lighthearted comedy lies a solid plot that follows Hong Gil-dong on his heroic journey. Though the new Hong Gil-dong is a bit more wicked, it seems like the drama will stay true to the original story. The second episode ends with Hong and his future band of thieves, hinting that things might get a bit more serious in the third installment. And that Hong Gil-dong might discover that he has the makings of a hero after all. While the over-the-top stunts, gaudy costumes, bathroom humor and strange cartoon-like characters might be a turn-off for some viewers, audiences seem to be taking a liking to the quirky combination. According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, viewer ratings were 15.4 percent following the first episode and rose up to 15.8 percent after the second episode, placing it second to MBC's medical drama "New Heart."
