Girls Generation, what is different from 'GEE' time?

Girl group Girls Generation presented their 3rd mini album on the 29th of June and begins their journey to hit the summer music market. After releasing their title song “Tell me your wish” on the 22nd, Girls Generation performed continuous come back stage in Music Bank (KBS 2TV), Show! Music Center (MBC) and Popular Song (SBS) from 26th to 28th.

Girls Generation used to be the first place in Music Bank for continuous 9 weeks by their previous mini album “GEE”. The song GEE has become one of the most popular songs downloaded from the internet in the first half of this year while their record sale reaches 100,000 pieces.

The comments about their new title song “Tell me your wish” are rising as well. Many fans try to figure out what is different about Girls Generation from “GEE” time.

Music

Tell me your wish is considered as a summer pop song full of beat and suits their dance. Reviews say it suits the passionate summer season and make you feel fresh and cool.

Girls Generation’s company, SM Entertainment, choose their best composer Yoo Yong Jin and European composer team to design the music for Girls Generation. However, without “Gee Gee Gee Gee” and “Baby Baby”, the new title song seems not that easy to follow comparing to Gee. Some fans think the new song is difficult to follow and less attractive as well.

However, it is not regarded as a fault for the new title song and the hot girl group. The new mini album with Tell me your wish is expected to sell 80,000 pieces of CD. And during last week after Tell me your wish released, it is always in the first few places on the internet download area.

Comparing to Gee, the dance for Tell me your wish seems more powerful. Walking forward with “crab leg dance”, tell me your wish emphasizes the group dance as a whole. In live show of Music Bank, Girls Generation wear navy top and shot pants to perform Tell me your wish and on the stage of Popular Song they change their clothes to mini skirt. In a word, the concept for Girls Generation’s clothes is cool which matches the season and their songs.

Fans notice that the clothes for Tell me your wish is much more mature than Gee time as well. In fact, 6 members out of 9 in Girls Generation already became adults in May of this year.
