'Brown Eyed Girls' Ka-in, Takes off makeup becoming an actress (Interview)

Ga-in from girl singing group "Brown Eyed Girls" are always the major singer dancing under spot light. V line chin and smoke makeup is her trend mark. She always wears amazing clothes and makeup for the audience and her performance stage. 


However somehow she chooses to take off all the luxury costume and remove all her makeup. She even takes off the lens and loses 8kg weight after the director's order. Suffering from fatal disease, singer Ka-in becomes actress Son Ga-in in movie "Closer to Heaven". 


-Actress was not what you dreamed of, how come you participated in the filming of this movie? 


"When director Park begins to write the scenario of the movie he wants someone who looks kind and has fold-less eyelid. From that time director Park was thinking about asking me to perform this character Jin-hee." 


"I was in for the audition of the character is half because my fold-less eyelid. My acting ability only gives me 5 points out of 100. However director Park said he will help me finish the rest of the points to become an actress in his movie and believed me so much so I got encouraged to try this patient character." 


-Compared to your perfect image on the stage the image of this patient is so different hey 


"Yeah…When I went for audition for the first time I took off my make up and even my lens to make me not look like a singer. I was afraid that the director wouldn't like it but he really like my style for the character." 


"Compare to singer Ga-in on the stage I become totally another person. But it's all for the movie I mean if I wear beautiful makeup I will make the movie and audience disappointed. I am happy with my change in the movie and I appreciate the support from director Park as well." 


-"Non-makeup Ga-in" used to be hot topic on internet. What do you think of that? 


"There are several reports on my Non-makeup face and one of the most interesting comments is ‘Why you put a picture of somebody else when you talk about Ga-in in the news story?' and also some anti fans say that ‘Without smoke makeup you just look terrible.'" 


"But I don't really care about what anti fans say to me I mean for the movie to be successful I just tried my best so I am not regret about that." 


-Do you want to keep trying acting and become a real actress in the future? 


"Actually I wanna keep trying and also some acting project wants me to be involved." 


"But I haven't find a character that suits me very well yet. Also actress career is not as big as my dream for singer. In the future I wanna try something that no one wants to play like murderer or something crazy. I would like it if I become the leading actress too, hahahahaha…."

Make up or no, she's still good. She has a great vocal. Body to kill. She shouldn't be bugged by those anti-fans at all, look at all around us, who doesn't rely on makeup to let us appear presentable. Be it a talk show, a party, a presentation in school.
