A graphic sexual poster takes off the veil of movie Map of Five Senses. The movie is made up by 5 separate episodes which made by 5 different directors to interpret the theme of “Sex” in their own perspectives.


The details of five episodes are as following: 'His concern' by Jang Hyuk and Cha Hyun-jung (Director Byeon Hyeok ); 'I am here' by Kim Kang-woo and Cha Soo Hyun (Director Heo Jin-ho); 'The 33rdman' by Bae Jong-ok, Kim Soo-ro and Kim Min-sun (Director Yoo Yong Sik); 'The end and beginning' by Uhm Jung-hwa, Hwang Jeong-min and Kim Hyo-jin (Director Min Gyoo-dong) and 'I believe the moment' by Kim Dong-uk, Sin Se-kyeong, Song Joong Ki, Li Si Yong and Jong Enl Jel (Director Oh Ki-hwan).


The 33rd Man and The end and beginning both follow the topic of homosexuality showing ultimate eros to the audience. These two episodes add fantasy into the movie to avoid uncomfortable feeling about gay love while I am here using perfume as the prop to narrate the story.


The 33rd Man tells the nature of human appetency. There is scene in this episode to stimulate your sense of taste when all the actresses actually eat the director Kim Soo-ro. The episode of His concern describes the beauty of female leg lines to stimulate the sense of sight. The sense of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch work as a whole and melt in the movie.


Director Yoo Young Sik who planned the movie says this movie costs 1 billion Korean Won and the effort of 5 directors, 16 actors and 300 staff. He wonders what kind of feedback they will get from the audience.


Being asked about comparing to Transformer 2, Director Yoo Young Sik smiled and said “I never think about robot when we make the film instead I think our film will win because of the diversity.


Director Min Gyoo-dong who directed Girl High School Thriller 2 and The most beautiful week in my life said I never made one film that only adults above 19 can watch. It’s so hard.


Jang Hyuk said the directors of this film want to bring different production to Korean film market and he feels very happy to participate in. To act in detail in one episode which is compressed with other 4 episodes into one film gives him a lot of pressure as well.


Kim Kang-woo who plays the role of husband in I am here says he can concentrate himself more in a short episode than a long one, “During the week of filming I totally integrate myself in the film and I’m so satisfied with that.”


The appearance fee for inviting 16 actors is another interesting question as well. “Comparing to a 120-minute film I only perform about 20-30 minutes in this film”, said Kim Soo-ro, “so the pay is different as well”. Movie Map of Five Senses will be on at 9 July.
