14th Pusan International Film Festival, 9 days film tsunami starts

The 14th Pusan International Film Festival starts from 8 October with the big opening ceremony held at 7:00PM in Pusan, Korea. 


Starting with production team of the opening movie "Good Morning President" led by Jang Dong-gun, 122 movie stars including Hollywood movie star Josh Hartnett and Japanese movie star Kimura Takuya leading movie "I come with the rain" walked through the Red Carpet and lighted up the night of Pusan. 


9-day movie festival starts right now. The committee of PIFF invites over 20 VIP members for the film festival including French director Jean Jaques Beineix for the New Currents Unit. 


355 episodes of movie from 70 different countries participate in the 14th PIFF easily makes the PIFF best film festival in Asia. 144 episodes of movie choose PIFF as the occasion to hold world premiere which makes new record in the PIFF history. 



Korean movies will be the major player during this PIFF. First of all PIFF choose Korean movie as opening movie for 3 years and the large scale promotion of Korean movies start from this summer including commercial movie and independent films. Also another shining point for PIFF will be the focus on more African movies which are seldom mentioned in PIFF before. 


3D workshop, overseas cooperation and diverse programs will make PIFF the best place to enjoy the movie and movie culture in Asia. After 9 days movie tsunami the 14th PIFF will end on 16 October with Chinese production "The sound of wind" as closing film.
